Attorney and, as such, has been in the private practice since 1987
1987 to April 2010, practised as Attorney-at-Law in Mauritius.
Was the Legal Adviser of Mauritius Co-operative Commercial Bank between 1995 and 1998.
Major part of practice between 1987 to April 2010 being civil, commercial and tax issues.
Involved in legal drafting, case preparation, client conferencing, counseling and research work on civil and commercial matters.
Has appeared before all Courts of Mauritius and also in quasi judicial matters before Tribunals and Conciliatory Bodies.
1985 –1988. President of Skylarks Youth Club during which period the club won many football tournaments.
President of Siva Soopramaniar Kovil Bhakta Sangam and Savanne Tamil Benevolent Society and was responsible for the management of three Kovils namely Maramen Kovil, Tookay Kovil and Sivasoopramaniar Kovil in Camp Diable.
1988 - joined the “Jeune Chambre Economique de Quatre Bornes”.
1989 - was proclaimed the ‘Most Outstanding Young Jaycee in Mauritius’.
Was the Legal Adviser of ‘Jeune Chambre Economique de l’Ile Maurice’.
1993 - became member of the Managing Committee of the Mauritius Tamil Temples Federation.
1995 - Public Relations Officer of the Mauritius Tamil Temples Federation
1997 -2000 - was the President of the Mauritius Tamil Temples Federation.
2002 - elected member of the Tamil Cultural Centre in the first board.
2002/2003 and 2003/2004 - was President of Siva Soopramaniar Kovil Bhakta Sangam and Savanne Tamil Benevolent Society.
From 2004 to date - President of the Arulmigu Sharveshwara Kovil Bhakta Sangam.
Has been associated with politics since 2008 and joined active politics in 2010.
Stood as candidate in the 2010 General Elections and was elected in Constituency No. 13 - Souillac /Rivière des Anguilles.
Sworn in as Minister of Information and Communication Technology on Tuesday the 11th day of May of 2010 to Deccember 2014
