The Committee of Selection selects and nominates members to the various committees.

The Committee of Selection selects and nominates members to the various committees.

NB: The Hon Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun and The Hon Georges Pierre Lesjongard have been members of the Committee of Selection from 02 August 2005 up to 03 Oct 2007, date on which they submitted their resignation. Hon D.J.M. Allet and Hon G. Gunness were nominated on 12 October 2007 to replace them on this Committee.

NB: The Hon Mrs Santi Bai Hanoomanjee and The Hon Mokshanand Dowarkasing have been members of the Public Accounts Committee from 02 August 2005 up to 03 Oct 2007, date on which they submitted their resignation. Hon E. J. Raoul Guimbeau and Hon J. Robert Speville were nominated on 12 October 2007 to replace them on this Committee.

The Public Accounts Committee examines the audited accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted by the Assembly to meet the public expenditure and such other accounts laid before this Assembly as the Assembly may refer to the Committee together with the Director of Audit’s report thereon.

The Standing Orders Committee reviews the Standing Orders from time to time on all matters relating to the Standing Orders which may be referred to them by the Assembly.

THE HOUSE COMMITTEE – Standing Order 69(4)

In accordance with Standing Order 69 (4), the Honourable Deputy Speaker will be the Chairman
of the House Committee. The committee looks after the comfort and convenience of Members of
Parliament and advises the Speaker on these matters.
